Common Questions

How long does a solar installation take?
Most residential solar panel installations are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex systems may take 2 days. We handle everything from scaffolding to final testing.
Do I need planning permission for solar panels?
In most cases, solar panels fall under permitted development rights and do not require planning permission. There are some exceptions for listed buildings, conservation areas, and flat-mounted panels. We advise on this during your free survey.
What is the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)?
The SEG is a UK government scheme that requires electricity suppliers to pay you for surplus solar energy you export back to the grid. This provides an additional income stream on top of your energy bill savings.
Is there any disruption to my home during installation?
Minimal disruption. Our team works primarily on the roof and in the loft space. We may need brief access to your consumer unit (fuse box). We always leave your property clean and tidy.
What warranty do I get?
All our installations come with comprehensive warranties: typically 25 years on solar panels, 10–12 years on inverters, and a workmanship warranty on the installation itself. As MCS-certified installers, our work is backed by industry standards.
